M-E-S and cinematography in our own print adverts

M-E-S and cinematography Positioning In my advert I plan to have two sides one side with a run down unhygienic setting with a dog placed in it and it being tied up to the wall. On the other side there will be a normal house with a family the dog will still be tied up in the centre with signs around it like empty bowls. The title slogan will be placed at the top and the log and the phase will be placed along the bottom with the logo in the corner.   The lighting would be different in my ad as you have the first image were the dog has natural light coming through a shattered room window. On the other side there will be natural light coming throughout the window but artificial lights from the bulb.   The acting will be coming from the dog and the family walking by. There face will not be visible due to the fact you are not meant to see them looking at the dog like they are neglecting him.   There will be normal clothes worn on set and the dogs hair w...

thriller opening scene sound analysis

Image
the sound creates the genre very well as its mysterious and low beat what works very well for a sci-fi movie and I feel you only hear music like this in a sci-fi or horror movie as its mysterious like the movies themselves.  the sound helps the narrative as it sets up the whole idea that it sci-fi so you would expect some futuristic thing but it helps cut right into the action about the dinosaurs more easily  I think its well used in the thriller genre as thrillers are mystery and this music represents that idea so variants of this type of music may be used in other thriller movies  there is diegetic sound from where they add the music overlapping the credits and the scenery there is a synchronous sound where the dinosaur steps down as its added to make it seem more powerful and have more of an impact   I felt there was a bit of a sting there with the dinosaur stomp as its introducing the dinosaurs as something what's going to appear through out...

opening sequnece (m-e-s)

Image
guardians of the galaxy vol 2 in opening sequence you see the main protagonist fighting an evil monster while baby root dances around in the background.  the positioning of the camera throughout the opening sequence is from a far and using a shallow focus as your attention is mainly focusing on groot. the lighting in the scenes were really bright and it has a glow to show the object they are working around is not a normal thing. the acting in this scene was quite serious at some points where as the small character you focus on is messing around. the costumes are quite unique as there group is quite diverse and they are meant to be from different planets or mutated. the facial expressions are focused in their work except for groot who's dancing happily. the setting was really vibrant and the background goes into extreme detail. I think there is one title which appears in the opening scene. The Dark Knight in the opening sequence you see a robbery of some sort and it end...

influencing audiences

21 yr white male who is a uni student at oxford uni studying maths  the big bang theory , itv news London,  itv evening news ,star trek i choose these programs for this person as he has a reformer psychographics which means he is very intelligent as he has attended uni and he has social awareness which means he likes to know whats going on. his demographics is a E which may suggest he still into the ski-fi area. he’s male so no soaps really into sic-fi stuff he’s young so not particularly older programs for him 16 year old black girl who is currently school refusing has no GCSEs   Simpsons 1hr, Hollyoaks  , Eastenders ,family guy 1hr Jeremy carl These programs i felt suited her demographics which is an E and she is probably a struggler in the psychographics which may suggest she likes soaps and programs like the Jeremy carl show.she’s black and her cultural background may be harsh and her attitude and behaviour must be low as she doesn’t have any school quali...

targeting audiences stranger things and the killing

stranger things 1. who is the target audience teenagers and young adults  2. how did they attract this audience in their trailer they used interesting action scenes packed with suspense 3.how did they reach this audience they may have reached this audience by Netflix sending out emails and they could post trailers on social media and youtube 4.how did they address this audience they probably used things that they would enjoy such as actions clip plus the plot and the characters may peak some younger peoples interest but also they would think young people like sic-fi more. 5. how did they construct this audience they used many methods like Netflix recommendation to social media to gather a group of people which would like to watch their show The killing 1. how is the target audience adults  2. how did they attract this audience they created their audience through the image as from viewing this you ca...

opening sequences and narrative theories

Image
Guardians Of The Galaxy vol 2 I think this opening sequence follows parts of equilibrium and binary opposite theory the reason for this is that in the short clip we see everything is just normal ( in a way for them ) then it kicks off a bit which suggests they must have a resolution since they have the equilibrium and disruption. I also thought it was apart of binary opposites the reason for this is that they have the good and the bad coming together and fighting against each other.   The Dark Knight I believe the opening sequence follows the enigma code the reason i think this as in the scenes you don't really know what is going on and theres a lot of mystery surrounding it. Another thing is that there are little clues like when he takes of his mask and reveals who he is however you don't really know his plans and gist of what is going to happen next

LFD and constructing audiences

Image
Stranger things This constructs an audience by using mystery and suspense through your this short trailer you are on the edge of your seat so puzzled which may draw you in so you can find out more. The type of people this advert would attract to watch this series would be mainly student or people belonging to the E or C section. This video gets the audiences brain engaged trying to figure out the mystery. Succeeders on the psychographics will be more into this type of thing and that any gender i feel can watch along with no restricted ethnicity either  Forbrydelsen ( the killing ) While watching this trailer there is no Audio except for the music so you focus more on the images but I still hard to grasp what’s going on however this type of thing because of you need to piece information together this may be suited for a older pensioner belonging to the E or the people from the AB or C section. I think that succeeders also fit into this another thing is male and female ...

details about the different dramas

stranger things age 15+ gender both male and female  ethnicity white/black demographics E,D psychographics succeeders age rated material, male and female characters involved in the show i think it would be mainly watch by white people/ succeeders because of decisions making and this ahead the killing age  30+ older people tend to watch this  gender  male and female  ethnicity white doesn’t seem like a program what others would like demographics A,B (possibly C1 ) this is because its requires the audience to piece stuff together to figure out the mystery psychographics Reformers, as they have independent judgement to make up decisions through this drama

LFD and editing

opening sequences and editing

editing techniques cutaway  i think this cut is a bit basic and sometimes you can confuse this cut with others if you are not sure on all of them / this editing technique can be used in an action genre/we could use this techniques to cut quicker away from the main character cross cutting I think this cut is a good way to show a phone conversation and is used a lot in movies/I think this editing technique would fit the horror genre well as it could be a conversation discussing details before a killing/we could pretend we are having a conversation on the phone. jump cuts   i like the idea of a jump cut as it can show time lapsing which is key some movies add just adds a good effect/a jump cut would be good in a comedy as i comedic jokes to show time lapsing/i could use this to improve my video by adding a jump to the chatting scene    graphic match the transition can be used very effectively when changing scenes like from a character looking...

opening sequences and editing

J-cut-as he’s walking up the boat their scene starts playing before he reaches the top Shot reverse shot-the magic guy and the audience Jump cut-him up the stairs L-cut as he’s walking away you can hear the guy shouting him These are used to create the genre as they can be mysterious and they show some action movie hints as the robbery gives it away i think this clip follows the enigma code the reason for this is that you don't know much of what he is doing or going to do as we don't find out much in the scene.

Continuity ( not done )

Continuity The continuity rules are in are costumes however the rules where broken when it games to props different locations Continuity is important because it makes things more real otherwise the effect isn't as great for example a guy with one eye patch on which switches through tout the movie or series. To be honest this messes up the whole thing if you notice it and it can cause a show to not be that good. However continuity can be broken when it comes to comedy's as it could be a jokey way but definitely not in a drama series as it just drains the mood

titles

Image
WWW. This image was made using the computer and what I like about it is that it looks like it's coming out of the box that it is put in but from the title you can kind off see blood which tells you a bit about what its about/ EBI bland and boring WWW. Bold stands out the background brings out the red EBI. The writing doesn't seem as dark as it should be as this is about a massacre WWW The writing is red which can suggest it was written in blood EBI writing is hard to see WWW The knifes does resemble violence which is what I'm trying to Accomplish and the reflectance of the material it's on Makes it stand out EBI ran out of knife so I should of Made sure there was enough Www Effort went into this to make it look like graffiti with gloves To show cover up of evidence EBI wrong colour and lack of material prevented more details

lighting

Image
Under lighting The lighting makes me look unnatural and creepy. This type of image lighting can be used By a evil character or monster. Side light This lighting make people focus on one part of my face But can be seen as someone who is only being half clear and hides Another side to their personality. Back lighting This image can be used in two ways as it casts a shadow over your body but is meant to outline you but this photo could be used as A figure standing at a far side of the room. Edge light In this image you can see only a part of my head is in shadow Which could mean that this image can be used to cover up a Specific feature. Front light Minimum to no shadows could be used to show a characters Innocence as nothing of theirs is hiding in the shadows.  Beauty light In this image it wasn't the best but you can see highlight of The cheek bones but this light could be used in a romance movie To show the beauty of a pers...

LFD and m-e-s

Image
Mike and eleven in this picture look puzzled or frustrated You could also see that eleven is wearing hair and makeup To cover up her true self because they believe she will be Treated like a freak. The expression on their face is a Mixture or sad and angry.they are in the school surrounded By students like they got into a fight. The props used in this Scene was the wig eleven was wearing. The positioning of The photo is a sort of closeup and its light everywhere The costumes are a dress which may be considered nice because Its Nancy's and casual clothes from mike This picture of will is set near a forest in the middle of the Night.no hair and makeup the expression on his face is scared And freaked out . The props in this scene is the bike. The camera Angle is a mid shot . There is no natural light except the one coming From his bike which creates a scary mood.his outfit is Casual wear In this image of Dustin And Lucas their hair is geeky. Lucas looks a bit...

Halls reception theory

How a person responds to a message in either the text in a book or scenes in a tv and movies  Encoding: how the creator makes the message and creates the correct representation through spoken clues or non spoken clues such as actions   Decoding:how the reader/watcher interprets the message from the clues in it  Dominant reading:the reader fully shares the texts code Negotiated reading: the reader partly agrees with the preferred reading but sometimes changes in a way based on experience and interests Oppositional reading: social situation places them in an oppositional relation understands the preferred reading but does not share the texts code but rejects this reading (alternative frame of reference ) like feminism or politics Message is interpreted depending on the reader/watcher cultural background point of view is based on dominant negotiated oppositional reading . Reader bases meaning on own experience

différent locations creating genre

Image
I choose the images of the office for the spy film genre as in this shot you can See different draws and locked place which means there are a lot of files hidden which can be found. In this image i thought it represented the genre of action as in the location you can see storage crates which i thought was a great location For someone to be kept in after being kidnapped. In this image it represents a psychological thriller you can see this in the image as the forest is a great place where people are Followed. Also a place were people go a bit mad trying to find a way out so i thought it was a great place for the genre In this image i thought it represented a crime genre this is because many criminals tend to Dispose all evidence where ever they can. I thought that it was a good place as it seems there is a lot you Can see so a lot of evidence. The last image i took i thought represented The horror genre. The reason for this i...

opening sequences and representation

Costumes This costume the character wearing Clearly looks like an authority figure Outfit which shows that in this situation He has some power of sort In this still you can see that her costume is Bright red this could suggest her character Is some sort of criminal as red is associated With blood but also she's wearing a mask Which conceals her face which means She's not doing what the law sees as a Right thing In this image you can see a similarity to the last One but the colour is different this could mean Many different things from background to Personality but the thing what does stand Out is the bow and arrow which is old But when used in offence its quiet Makeup In this image you can see that her hair and Make up makes her look more innocent She also looks young in this photo what is another Way to say she's innocent In this image you can see that her hair and Makeup makes her look crazy and unstable This is because t...

opening sequences and m-e-s

baby driver 1. positioning The positioning is used to construct the sub-genre as the camera had to be close enough to the car to see its intense moves but the camera angle was needed as if it was just one long shot of the car driving off there would be no suspense of the chase which may have change the genre of the film. 2.lighting The lighting was used to construct the sub genre as you needed it to be day in order to show the intense chase in more detail. This helped better than a nigh time clip as you cant see much of what is going on plus you need to focus on everything in the scene to understand it all so natural daylight was much needed. 3.acting The acting was used to construct the sub genre. This was because how well the actors performed because of the way they acted it really brought the genre to life and within the opening scenes you can clearly tell what the genre is. 4.costume the outfits the actors were wearing made the clip feel more verisimilitude this is bec...
